HEAR FROM MO-BROS...

MITCH MARSH

Having chosen cricket over a career as an Australian Rules footballer, Mitchell Marsh wasted no time showing off the natural ability that he shares with his Test-playing father Geoff and brother Shaun.

He made his state debut at the age of 17, was an Under-19 World Cup-winning captain at 18 and earned an international call-up at 19, before some off-field issues and several serious injuries saw his career stall.

Having opted against the big money on offer in the Indian Premier League in 2014, Marsh burst back onto the scene with in double-century for Australia A against India A, which came as part of a record 371-run partnership with Warriors teammate Sam Whiteman.

Marsh was then rushed back into Australia’s one-day side for the tour of Zimbabwe, where took three wickets and posted scores of 89 against Zimbabwe and 86 not out from 51 balls against South Africa, which included an astonishing attack against Dale Steyn.

It was enough to earn Marsh a spot in Australia’s Test squad for the series against Pakistan in the UAE.

Since his Test debut, Marsh has become a regular selection for Australia in all three formats when at full fitness. His ability to hold his own with both bat and ball has been shown to give Australia an edge in close games, such as when he scored his maiden international century against India in an ODI in 2016.

GEORGE BAILEY

After a long apprenticeship in domestic cricket, George Bailey was finally rewarded with regular international appearances.

Bailey's rapid rise to the captaincy in limited-overs cricket spoke volumes of his leadership ability and popularity in the Australian dressing-room.

While his Test career has stalled following a disappointing 2013-14 Ashes campaign with the bat, he continued to perform well in limited-overs cricket.

He will be remembered fondly for the 28 runs he smashed off one Jimmy Anderson over in Perth in memorable summer for the Aussies.

His Test debut came on the back of his extraordinary ODI performance against India in 2013, where he plundered 478 runs at an average of 95.60 and jumped to No.2 in the world rankings.

In 2017-18, Bailey was awarded the Ricky Ponting medal after being named Tasmanian cricketer of the season.
